The last thing that any adult wants is to have a mouth full of braces. However, the second last thing that you may want to have is a mouth full of crooked teeth, so how can you get both? Here at Clear Lake Dental Care, we’ve got you covered with Invisalign. Invisalign works by using a series of clear aligners that you switch out every couple of weeks which work to move your teeth into a more perfect position. To make sure that your aligners stay in good shape, let’s take a closer look at a few things you can do.
Rinse Them
One of the many unique benefits of Invisalign is that you can take them out when you are eating or brushing your teeth. To make sure that your aligners stay clean as well, gently rinse them every time you remove them with some warm water. Because saliva and plaque can build up on your liners, it can result in a breeding ground for harmful bacteria.
Brush Your Aligners Gently
When you take your aligners out to brush your teeth, you can also gently brush your aligners. Brushing your aligners is a great way to get rid of plaque and harmful bacteria. Just make sure that you use an extra soft toothbrush and that you don’t apply too much pressure because you don’t want them to break or shift.
Floss Your Teeth
If you have food trapped in between your teeth and then you put your aligners back in, it may shift them and cause them to move around. Make sure that you floss your teeth after everytime that you eat. If you don’t have access to dental floss because you’re at a restaurant or work, you can vigorously rinse your mouth with some water to help get it out.
