3 Tips For Cleaner Dentures

Your mouth is naturally full of germs and bacteria. In fact, every time you breath air in, you are likely breathing in at least a few germs. Not only that, but every time you eat as well, you are also introducing food to your mouth which can lead to a host of problems like cavities and gum disease if you aren’t careful. To make sure that you keep your dentures as clean as possible, let’s go over three easy tips.

  1. Brush Them

Just because your dentures are artificial teeth, they can still be prone to bacteria and even decay. Make sure that you brush your dentures at least twice a day with a soft bristled toothbrush. Whether you brush your dentures while they’re in your mouth or you take them out when brushing them, make sure that you get around every corner so that they’re as clean as possible.

  1. Soak Them in a Clean solution

In addition to brushing your dentures, you should also soak them in a clean denture solution every night before bed. Even though you may be tempted to reuse the same solution, it’s better to just use some new solution. Soaking dentures overnight will help keep them as clean as possible and will help them last longer as well.

  1. Rinse your dentures

Before you put your dentures back in your mouth, make sure that you rinse them with some warm water. By rinsing them, you can help to get off any germs or food that may be left on them and ensure that you’re not putting anything dirty back into your mouth.

By taking good care of your dentures, you are also taking extra good care of your mouth as well. To learn more about dentures and how to take care of them, contact us at our Webster office and call us at (832) 479-4676.
